Prof. Ir. Dr. Malathy Batumalay

Prof. Ir. Dr. Malathy Batumalay is an expert in Photonics, Artificial Intelligence, and the Internet of Things (IoT), with a strong focus on intelligent sensing and sustainable smart technologies. She serves as Director of the Centre for Data Science and Sustainable Technologies at INTI International University, Malaysia. Her research spans fiber-optic sensor design, machine learning–based biomedical analysis, and AIoT applications for healthcare, environment, and digital humanities. She has recently published influential works on topics such as smart homes for differently-abled individuals, EEG-based mental-health prediction, quantum-inspired deep learning for medical imaging, and AI-driven cultural preservation. Prof. Batumalay’s contributions integrate engineering precision with human-centered innovation, advancing sustainable and inclusive technological development across disciplines.

Prof. Hidetaka Nambo is an expert in Artificial Intelligence, Rehabilitation Science, and Kansei Informatics, with a focus on innovative applications of AI in fields like healing engineering and welfare technology.
